Beast is the collaborative vision of Canadian musicians Katelyn Clark (portative organ/harpsichord) and Ben Grossman (hurdy-gurdy). Since forming in 2021, the self-described 'early drone' duo has drawn from ancient practices of bourdon, imaginative temperament, and long-form improvisation. Their music intersects realms of experimental, minimalism, and dark ambient. Each performance offers a carefully built landscape, occasionally enhanced through the use of large pipe organs, instrumental preparation, amplification, and digital process. Beast is based in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke.
